ForecastYou - Privacy Policy
ForecastYou is designed to respect your privacy completely. This policy explains what that means in plain language.
What we collect
ForecastYou does not ask you for personal information. There are no user accounts, no sign-in, and no profile. Every journal entry, habit, mood, activity, photo, and forecast you create is stored locally on your device and not sent to us or any third-party service. If you explicitly export or share a backup, the destination you choose will receive that copy.
Photos and camera
With your permission, ForecastYou can use your photo library or camera to attach images to entries. Imported images are processed on your device and are not sent to us. If you import from iCloud Photos, Apple's Photos framework may download the original photos onto your device so the app can use them; this happens through Apple, not through any ForecastYou server.
Purchases and entitlements
ForecastYou uses RevenueCat, a third-party service, to manage subscriptions and unlock Pro features. When the app launches, it contacts RevenueCat to check whether your device holds an active subscription. RevenueCat receives only an anonymous device identifier, basic device and platform information, and your subscription status — never your journal entries or anything else you log. You can review RevenueCat's privacy practices at revenuecat.com/privacy.
The purchase itself is handled directly by Apple through the App Store. Apple's own privacy policy governs that transaction. We never see your payment information.
What we share
Apart from the purchase-management exchange described above, we share nothing. ForecastYou contains no advertising SDKs, no analytics SDKs, and no behavioral tracking. Your journal content is never sold, shared, or transmitted to any party.
Future cloud sync
We are working on an optional cloud sync feature. If and when it launches, it will be strictly opt-in, clearly disclosed in the app, and this privacy policy will be updated before the feature ships. Users who do not opt in will continue to have a fully local, private experience.
Children's privacy
ForecastYou is a general-audience app and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Your control over your data
Your data lives on your device. You can export a backup at any time from the Load tab, and deleting the app removes ForecastYou's local app data from your device, but does not remove backups you previously exported elsewhere. There is no "account" to close because no account exists.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new effective date. Material changes will also be announced within the app.
